About Us
District Fabric first opened in Seattle WA in 2012. It was inspired by the world's colorful and vibrant fabric districts. Our goal has always been to provide artists, designers, and sewists with a unique selection of quality garment fabrics.
In search of a slower pace of life and tighter knit community, we relocated from Seattle to the vibrant town of Port Townsend, WA in 2018. Now, District Fabric is not only a destination apparel fabric shop for Washington State but also a vital resource for our local community of makers.
We've expanded our offerings to include notions, workwear fabrics and a general emphasis on sustainability. District Fabric is dedicated to supporting our community while preserving the eclectic essence that originally ignited our passion and vision.

Open Sew
Every Monday Night, 6pm to 8pm
Come sew with friends! Company while you're making can be really inspiring and fun so we're setting aside this time in the shop for folks to gather and sew together. Bring a project or two to work on and enjoy our beautiful solarium porch. Our sewing room is stocked with all the basic notions and machines (or bring your own if you'd rather.) We'll be there to answer questions about fitting, sewing or project planning.
